PINC Internship Summer program is designed to leave you with a resume with a competitive edge. Please find key aspects of the PINC 8-week Summer Program explained below. Quick Overview

  • Semi- intensive Spanish classes (10 hours)
  • Cultural Activities (including language exchanges & networking events)
  • 2 nights & 3 days in Barcelona (transportation, housing, breakfast and tour guide included)
  • Professional Development Workshops  & Mentorship (breakfast included)
  • 6 week internship placement – Monday to Thursday at an International Company based in Madrid!

Price Includes: housing, international insurance & international student discount card (valid for one year), SIM card with data, pre-departure orientation, welcome pack, airport pick up, welcome luncheon, breakfasts, and a 24/7 coordinator solely for all PINC students. This program price does not include flight & most food.

Program Breakdown

Before Departure

  • Virtual Pre-Departure Orientation

Arrival

  • Airport pick up (Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport)
  • Arrival for Saturday 20 May 2017 (this often means that you need to book a flight the day before on Friday 19 May 2017).

Orientation

  • Orientation: Welcome the group to Spain discuss safety, distribute cell phone SIM cards with data, welcome pack with maps and useful city information, and metro card.
  • Meet & Greet Luncheon

Spanish Classes

  • Each day of the first week in Madrid includes an intensive Spanish class at an innovative and dynamic Spanish school located in the heart of Madrid.
    • The Spanish school is also accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, which is the highest form of accreditation a language school in Spain can receive.
  • These 25+ hours of classes include cultural activities such as tapas and wine tours to neighborhood and museum tours with your fellow PINC members.

Discover Spain Activities

  • In addition to the cultural activities that the Spanish schools provide the first week we provide information and encourage ‘Discover Spain’ activities, such as:
    • Puerta del Sol
    • Plaza Mayor
    • Food Markets
    • Royal Retiro Park
    • Walking Tour
    • Tapa Tour
    • Flamenco Show*
    • Royal Palace*
    • Access to trendy clubs
    • Language Exchanges
    • Real Madrid Stadium Dinner *

*Please note some activities require an entrance fee that are not included in the program price. 

Internship Placements

  • Six weeks of work placement Monday to Thursday with an a possible 10am to 6pm schedule. 
  • Internships available in a variety of departments such as Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Tourism, Design, Social Media, Event Planning, and more.
  • Each company will have a supervisor for interns, and that person will be responsible for organizing the intern’s daily tasks and projects. The time spent in the work placement helps with goal setting skills as well as constructive feedback received. There will be a final appraisal of the intern’s work.  

Workshops

  • During the second week students participate in professional and personal development workshops with experts in fields such as: personal branding, public speaking, emotional intelligence, international resume and interview skills.

Mentorship

  • Students participate in a mentorship workshop. This opportunity is to gain a deeper insight into future career goals and the various skills growing in the work force.

Networking

  • Fostering national and international connections is an integral part of building a network. Students attending professional networking events, meet ups, language exchanges, and events that occur throughout the city.

Travel

  • Most weekends are free so the interns are able to travel. Interns have ventured to France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, around Spain and more! PINC representatives keep a close watch on the interns to make sure each girl is safe and has all the necessary items for successful travel.

Move out day Saturday July 14, 2017

PINC Alumna

  • Once a part of that PINC family, each member becomes part of a legacy and community of women who are there to support, guide and encourage. Each girl receives access to the PINC Professional facebook community. They also receive discounted rates on other group travel organizations.
